WIPW - I'm (not really) ready for winter

Work In Progress Wednesday. Check it out at Pintangle.

This week's report is short and sweet. I have completed the second wrist warmer and I am ready for winter. Honestly, though, I don't mind a bit more of summer and then a gentle easing into autumn before I will be needing these samples of Swedish wool embroidery to keep warm.

That fringing really makes those wrist warmers. I love them.

They are so pretty! Did you use the crochet way for the fringe this time?

Queeniepatch said...

Yes, I myself think they are so pretty I'm almost longing for winter, ha, ha!

Yes, aren't they cuddly? However, the fringe on the second wrist warmer did not fuss up over a steaming kettles as well as the first one did. If you look carefully at the picture you can see the difference. I hope with time it will be fluffy and nice.

Oh, Annet! I feel so honoured that you remember about the crochet technique. No, I stitched this in the same way as the first one. The reason? My crochet hooks are on the other side of the Blobe, in Japan.

How pretty! I'm sure you are pleased with them! Will you be back in Japan for winter?

I like them. You find the exacly colour. Bra jobbat.

Tack! Ja, jag är nöjd med resultatet, men av någon anledning var det mycket svårare att fluffa upp den andra kavelfransen över en ångande kastrull. Det är en blandning av ullgarn och kanske är det mer hårdtvinnade i den andra...

I will be thinking of Sweden, the beautiful summer and all kind comments whenever I wear them in winter on the other side of the Globe.

Thanks, Pamela. Yes, I will be back in Japan long before winter sets in.

I've been thinking, now that you have the hot water bottle cover, how about crocheting a pair of wrist warmers?

Queeniepatch said...

You're right; they are toasty colours and will help to keep my warm.

Beautiful wrist warmer. The fringes looks cute ...Chain stitch outline makes the blue flower a bit bold and I like that effect...

Winter seems so far off with today's heat and humidity, but those wrist warmers are just asking to be worn.

Queeniepatch said...

Thank you Anita.
Yes, isn't the chain stitch just right for a border stitch?

You would sweat in them in the Tokyo heat!!! I'll keep them for frosty December mornings.
